The third annual display featured large bursts and ground effects, a small brush fire, and an American flag finale. Glider Lands at Mazon High Field
A glider from Naperville to Streator landed on the grounds of Mazon Township High School at 5 p.m. Monday after losing its way and altitude. The pilot Frank Allen, 57, Milwaukee, Wis., reported no injuries and the sheriff's department was notified by District No. 5 state police.

Firecracker injures youth in Coal City area
Officials from St. Joseph Hospital Joliet reported a 17 year old Chicago youth named John Felthouse sustained lacerations from a firecracker in the Coal City area. Deputies searched campsites but could not locate the boy’s camp. Felthouse was treated at Joliet Hospital.
