First Major Viet Cong Clashes End Lunar Truce
Allied forces reported 91 Viet Cong killed and 123 captured in clashes since the lunar New Year truce, including a large strike by the South Vietnamese 9th Regiment on a Viet Cong training camp near the Cambodian border. Korean and U.S. units also reported deaths, arrests, and seizures in coastal plains around Da Nang, Chu Lai, and Can Tho. Hanoi Radio said 15 South Vietnamese officers were released.

After a two hour session a post meeting poll showed 38 favor building and operating a county home, about 10 opposed, with others undecided. Burglars Loot Coast to Coast Store on Liberty Street
Police reported a burglary at the Coast to Coast Store, 320 Liberty St., Wednesday night. A Browning .22 rifle, twelve watches, $20, and several gloves were taken after burglars entered through a rear door, breaking a back door pane. The theft was found at 7:45 a.m. by city workers. Serial number 2T4T953 noted for the rifle.
