Commonwealth Edison sold two 140 acre parcels at a public auction near the LaSalle County Nuclear Power Station. Kevin Burke of Ottawa paid 2420 dollars per acre for 145 acres on Grand Ridge Road and County Highway 39, while Richard Twait of Marseilles bought 143 acres north of the nuclear plant at 1305 dollars per acre. Auction at Brookfield Town Hall at 1 p.m. Freddie Immke of Saunemin and Jim Trunk of Forrest were the auctioneers. The parcels were acquired by Edison for plant construction but were not used.
