Yorkville murder suspects captured by Morris officers
Three men and a 16 year old girl were shot dead and a bartender wounded at Pine Village Steak House north of Yorkville. Police recovered a .32 caliber revolver and about $570 from suspect Carl Reimann, with Betty Piche, both held without bond. Victims include George Pashade, Robert Loftus, and David Gardner. Funeral services held. investigators withheld many details.

Four girls escape sinking car on Dwight Rd in Wauponsee
A car carrying Denese Warrick 16 Nora Davis 16 and Margaret Davis 14 went off the road into water on Dwight Rd In Wauponsee. The three girls escaped and reached Material Services building to call for help while authorities stood by. Flood levels rose on the Illinois River and Dresden Lock and Dam over the weekend and were receding by Monday. The Grundy County Sheriff reported washouts on Old 47 near Mazon and other roads including Collins Timber Lower Rd Scully Rd and Dupont and Kinsman Roads.

Rev. Robert Brandstatter 38 former pastor of Mazon and Verona Methodist churches died in a Sunday car crash on Illinois 26 near Peoria.
