Three Injured in County Highway Accidents
Three people were injured in county crashes this weekend and remained in hospital. A 31 year old Chicago man James E. Reed suffered skull lacerations when his northbound car veered off U S 66 two miles north of Illinois 47 and struck a bridge rail. He remained in serious condition at St James Hospital Pontiac. Cindy Barkley 16, daughter of Mr and Mrs William Barkley of Route 5 was treated for facial lacerations at Morris Hospital after a car driven by Stephen Malfatti 19 Route 2 Seneca left U S 66 frontage road near Gardner and plunged into a ditch. Barkley was transferred from St James to Morris Hospital. Malfatti was released after facial lacerations. A third accident near Campus Road south of Gardner left a driver with back injuries and facial lacerations and a car taken to a Kankakee hospital.
