Two Die After Slag Heap Collapse Near Ottawa
Robert Ralston, 23, of Joliet and John Nicholson, 22, of Downers Grove died in a slag heap collapse in a ditch near Ottawa. Ralston died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria after being in critical condition in the ICU since the accident last Thursday.

Kendall crash kills man in Kendall County
Warren Roger Clark 34 of Aledo died after a Tuesday morning crash on Grove Road near Caton Farm Road when his Datsun slid across a bridge and a northbound limestone truck struck it. Driver Daniel Anderson and passenger Kermit Olson were uninjured. Coroner called it Kendall County's 11th traffic fatality this year. Clark leaves a widow Frances and three brothers. Funeral services pending.

Man given 30 days for resisting police in Grundy County
Michael Crase 25 of Mazon was sentenced to 30 days in Grundy County Jail for resisting or obstructing a police officer. An aggravated assault charge was dismissed with 21 days already served. Crase was arrested November 24 after family members said he threatened them with a .12 gauge shotgun.
