Christmas Card Plan Shifts to Charity and Greeting Wall

Plattville United Methodist Women approve a plan to skip mailed cards. Members sign a large handmade greeting on the church bulletin board and donate postage funds to charity. Time saved will strengthen family Christmas spirit as members greet friends in person. A separate note recalls the 18th Co. E 129th Infantry Illinois National Guard reunion at the VFW hall with dinner and reminiscing.

Bond Set At 40000 For Convicted Rapist In Apartment Assault

Sam Levy, 31, faced arraignment on charges from Cook County Grand Jury after two Mundelein College psychology majors Nileen Bina and Mary Killeen accused him of terrorizing them with a knife and gun in their apartment for three hours. The victims were unhurt. Levy had been released from prison last April after a 10 year sentence for rape robbery and burglary.
