IRS Tightens Rules on Child Care Credit Claim
The IRS requires names and addresses plus Social Security numbers for babysitters when parents claim the child and dependent care credit on federal tax returns. Providers must report income. Form 2441 requests identifying details and payments. The 20 percent credit covers actual expenses with caps of 400 dollars for one child and 800 dollars for two or more.
