Judgment against nine foreign uranium producers finalized
A federal judge entered a final default judgment against nine foreign uranium producers for failing to answer Westinghouse Electric Corp. in a price fixing suit. The ruling, by Judge Prentice Marshall, is more binding than a default entry and allows Westinghouse to seek damages. The Oct. 15 1976 suit charged 12 foreign and 17 domestic producers with conspiring to fix supply and prices to push intermediaries out of the market.

Judge rules for Goose Lake property owners in Grundy County
Grundy County Circuit Judge Robert Malmquist ordered the county to issue zoning certificates within 10 days to 10 Goose Lake property owners after a summary judgment in their favor. The ruling enjoined Grundy County Building and Zoning Director Eugene Sorensen from enforcing section VKI which required 150 feet frontage for residential lots with separate sewage systems. The judge held Private Sewage Disposal Act preempts that provision. a zoning certificate may be issued without a concurrent occupancy permit. Plaintiffs include Everett and Elsie Themer and other Themer and Ammer families, naming Norman and Cheryl Themer, Rudolph and Katherine Ammer, Anthony and Deborah Tessone.
