Zoning hearing continues over Goose Lake subdivision lots
After nearly three hours the Grundy County Zoning Board of Appeals again continued the hearing on five partial lots in Goose Lake Subdivision. The panel will reconvene Jan 18 at 7 p m to rule on denial of zoning certificates cited by Building and Zoning Officer Eugene Sorensen.

Mazon man injured in two car Grand Ridge Rd crash
Enrique Jimenez a 36 year old of Seventh St Mazon was treated at Morris Hospital after a two car collision on Grand Ridge Rd near Dwight Rd at about 7 20 a m. Thomas Sinks 57 of Coal City escaped injury. Sinks collided with Jimenez slidinger side on a slippery road causing about 1000 damage to Jimenez car and 1500 damage to Sinks Oldsmobile. Jimenez received transport to hospital by Seneca Ambulance Service.

Fire damages Goose Lake residence of Paul Carlson family
Fire caused extensive damage to the Paul Carlson home on Tony Cove Lane Goose Lake with damage estimated at 35 000 to 40 000 dollars. Mailman Louis Pierard reported the blaze at 11 35 a m after smoke and flames spread from the basement through two floors and damaged the roof. The cause was unknown at the time and the department worked about two hours and 30 minutes. The Carlson family spent Tuesday night elsewhere.

A federal grand jury indicted six men for the November 19 bank heist at St Anne National Bank in Danville Illinois. Defendants include Robert V Walton 29 Chicago Robert E Curtis 43 Chicago Thomas Williams Charles Goodman Stanley Gossett and Sidney Carver 50 Cicuitaga all charged with armed robbery.
