The Morris Post Office begins its peak December mail volume as Postmaster William V. Martin urges customers to clear sidewalks and assist carriers. He notes prior year injuries, ongoing safety efforts, and extended Saturday hours on Dec 10 and 17 to handle the rush.
Pearl Harbor marked the 36th anniversary with no major events in Pearl Harbor Hawaii aside from low key memorials. Navy officials and veterans planned wreaths and observances while the public observed a moment of silence at 7 55 a m local time.
