A 50 acre site beside Goose Lake Prairie State Park in Grundy County is labeled a major demonstration project under Illinois strip mine control rules. Two Morris firefighters J. Broderick and H. Lenser were treated at Morris Hospital for burns after responding to a garage fire Tuesday evening. The Minooka Road blaze east of Illinois 47 destroyed the garage owned by Donald Sieger and used by Gene Wren. the house was saved. Damages were about $1,000 for the structure and $200 for contents. Cause undetermined. Fire crews remained on scene for one hour after an 8 10 p.m. call.
