ICC approves rate hikes for CILCO electric and gas

The Illinois Commerce Commission granted Central Illinois Light Co. an electric and gas rate increase totaling about 24.9 million dollars annually. The decision raises average residential electric bills by 17.4 percent in summer and 9.5 percent in winter, with gas bills rising about 4.3 percent in summer and 2.7 percent in winter. CILCO serves about 180,000 electric and 173,000 gas residential customers across central and eastern Illinois including Peoria Pekin Lincoln Tuscola and Springfield.

IVCC to acquire local art for permanent collection

IVCC in Oglesby plans to spend up to 6000 on works by local artists for a permanent collection. A juried fall exhibit on Oct 16 to Nov 3 will select pieces, with delivery Sep 28–29. Funding comes from the IVCC Foundation and local banks, aiming to match $3000 in grants.
