Fox Valley PCA sets annual meeting
Fox Valley Production Credit Association announces its 45th annual stockholders meeting at the Gaslite Manor in Aurora on Thursday August 24 starting at 6 p.m. Registration at 6 and dinner at 7 with a business meeting at 8. Two directors will be elected for Kane and LaSalle County positions. Charles Bennett of Federal Intermediate Credit Bank will present a look at The Good Old Days. Entertainment by We the People. Invitations sent to over 1,000 stockholders. Reservations necessary.

Fox Valley PCA promotes farmer owned cooperative drive
Fox Valley PCA a farmer owned credit cooperative active in nine counties along the Fox River runs a consumer education campaign and agricultural promotion booth at area fairs this summer including Kankakee County Fair Elburn Days and Dekalb County Fair. The effort echoes the national slogan farming is everybody s bread and butter. The group recalls that in 1936 bread was a nickel and farmers earned a third of the consumer dollar while in 1977 bread cost 35.5 cents and farmers’ share was 13 percent.
