Progress 3 docks with Salyut 6 space lab in flight
The unmanned Progress 3 cargo capsule linked with the Salyut 6 orbital station at about 3 a.m. Moscow time after a 49 hour flight. It carried over 1 ton of supplies and mail for Soyuz 29 crew Vladimir Kovalenok and Alexander Ivanchenkov, who have been in space for 54 days. Tass said all systems on Salyut Soyuz Progress were functioning normally and cosmonauts were in good condition. The docking confirmed engineering decisions for long term orbital station supply and increased mission duration.

Lipoproteins and cholesterol risk linked to drinking
Richmond researchers report high density lipoproteins HDL help move cholesterol to the liver for excretion while low density lipoproteins LDL do not. Alcohol may raise HDL levels, potentially improving cholesterol balance though caution remains. The study involved human subjects and bile excretion measurements after HDL and LDL administration.
