Kendall County man indicted on reckless conduct charge
Kendall County Grand Jury returned a no bill on attempted murder against Bruce Banaszak 33 of Plattville. A true bill for reckless conduct was returned. The June 14 shooting at the Banaszak home involved Public Defender Max Peterson who was shot in the chest and hospitalized. Sheriff Usry and Detective Price testified as the case moves to a reckless conduct misdemeanor trial.

Local 601 IBEW members ratified a one year contract to June 1, 1977, with an 90 cent per hour raise raising the wage package to 11.81 including basic pay health welfare and pension. NECA Illinois and IBEW negotiated the deal as Seneca plant shutdown and strike disrupted Grundy County projects. The pact adds 10 cents per hour pension from Jan. 1, 1977 and foremen gains of 10 to 15 cents. An apprentice school will be started in Streator.
