Good Friday meeting called by Morris mayor elect

Morris Police Sgt Donald Ward Retires After 22 Years

Three Morris Boys Admit Fire at FPB Warehouse

Three 13 year old Morris youths told police they discarded a cigarette butt causing a fire at Federal Paper Board's paper storage warehouse on Washington Street. The blaze destroyed shredded paper and damaged the east end. fire crews remained on scene 3:40 to 6 p.m. Officials said FPB did not want prosecution.

Grundy AVC Base Raised to 8256 and Staff Pay Hikes

The Ad ministrative Advisory Council approved a 3.2 percent raise raising the Grundy Area Vocational Center base salary from 8000 to 8256 for 1973-74. Mazon opposed the package including insurance and leave rules. Kaufman and Thompson salaries up, nonprofessional raises set, and various staff changes plus a new automotive department chair stipend approved. A surplus truck was purchased for 200 and greenhouse dismantling proceeding.
