Ray Ramblin notes Bill Blosser of Moulton turning 92 on December 16 and Mr. Murdy who turns 92 on December 25. The piece mentions crop questions from Chariton County as 5 to 6 inches of rain flood bean ground, though prospects for a bumper bottom crop remain, with one farmer facing potential losses around $16,000 on 195 acres.
A note from John Wilsons III reports continued growth in California chicken farming. A new brooding house measuring 180 by 35 feet has just been completed and contains 5,000 pallets two months old. John Wood and Irvin Kalvig hosted Sunday evening services.

John Main attends Saturday supper with the Wilsons. Van Harsh spends Tuesday with Ernest Hiatt. Claude Harrelson and family from Nevada fellowship with Jay Wilson family.

Wednesday club met with Mrs. Rose Fisher September 20. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Barbara Wilson in October. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stevens of Newton were Sunday dinner guests of the Fabers. Ladies Aldrie on September 27 with Mrs. Barbara Rhee. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Douglas and family of Ames spent Monday with the Sinclairs.

Mrs James Calhoun attended an officer training session for the Woman's Society of Christian Service at Moravia. Mr and Mrs Coy Swift spent Sunday at the Art Edwall home in Ottumwa. Mr and Mrs Larry Derby spent Thursday at the Emmett Derby. Several families shared visits at Virgil Calhoun home in Lincoln Nebr and Earl Swifts, with 4-H meeting attended by Linda Ammons.
