Strikes Loom Over Rail Unions and Contract Disputes
Union leaders push for their own contract interpretation triggering stoppages. Missouri Pacific halted operations with risk of wider shutdowns as Wabash faced forced continuous operation. The disputes center on contract terms not wage rates, including full day pay for partial work and payments for others’ services, with leadership steering actions outside standard legal processes.
