General Armstead Award Recipients Named At Camp McCoy
Major General Louis D. Burkhalter presented the General Armstead award to 1st Lt. Roger Winslow at the final division review during summer training at Camp McCoy Wisconsin. The 108th Infantry Division comprising about 8,000 men across Iowa Minnesota and Wisconsin includes Company A of the 328th Engr Bn which provided engineer support through bridge and road construction mine laying clearance demolitions and water purification. Company A was judged the top company in Battalion K phase tests on the Batley Bridge assault driver crossing compass course and mine field work. the photo lists show Lt Winslow among others.
