The Appanoose-Davis athletic conference met in Centerville on September 1 and elected A. R. Fenton as president with R. E. Byers of Udell as vice president and L. Johnson as secretary treasurer. The group schedules two basketball flamborees with a girls session in Cincinnati October 21 and a boys session in Numa October 27. The conference endorses Raymond E. Russell Johnson, formerly of Mora via, and recent Minneapolis resident, died August 21 in a car truck collision near Atlantic Iowa. He was en route to visit cousin Mrs Allen Boll er. His car skidded on slippery pavement and was crushed beneath a semitrailer from Fort Dodge.

The 49th Moravia Fall Festival brings big crowds for homecoming. Entries close Thursday at 9 00 p m with Farm Bureau and REA co hosting. Friday features entertainment by REA and a large parade. Saturday includes a 1 30 children’s parade, community acts, band concerts by Bill Jessee, and post show drawings in the industrial tent.
