Rural School News West Point Opens With Nine Pupils
West Point opened Monday August 20 1982 with nine pupils enrolled in grades 1 4 5 and 8. Students listed include Leo Systma Ralph Hoffman Vivian Hoffman Velda Dodge Beulah Dodge Robert Brown Helen Funkhouser Irene Systma Jack Hoffman and Barbara Brown for first grade. All had perfect attendance first week and earned stars on clean hands charts for washing. Volda Dodge excelled in spelling while preparing for the Moravia Fall Festival exhibit. Two visitors Leo Systma and Ralph Hoffman attended the first week.

Coffin Family Reunion at Mein Grove Moravia
The tenth annual Coffin reunion was held Sunday September 4 1932 at Mein Grove half a mile south of Moravia. A day of pleasant activities included a reading program with two articles on prohibition by Faye Gibson and Daphen Pennington a talk on the Uquer question by Mrs Anna Ullom and a reading When you get to know a feller by Odile Wilson. Officers elected included R R Pennington president James Allem vice president and Mrs Chas Coffin secretary treasurer. A guest Ocile Wilson from Arizona shared stories about Indians in Arizona and many relatives attended from Centerville Des Moines Blakesburg and nearby towns.

Hiatt Reunion Brings Centerville Kin Together in Iowa Park
The Hiatt family held their annual reunion at Centerville Park in Centerville Iowa on Sunday September 4 with over two hundred relatives present. Officers were re-elected led by J T Hiatt as president and Lute Hiatt as vice president. A noon potluck featured a long table of dishes under shade trees. The afternoon was spent visiting and reconnecting with relatives. Relatives and visitors from many towns attended, including Hal Carter Russell and Marceline Dea Moine Mrs. J C Wilson Buckeye Arizona and many Hiatt kin from Missouri Iowa and beyond.

Coulson Reunion Brings Seventy-One Relative Gatherings
Seventy-one relatives and friends gathered at Louis Rouse home southwest of Hilton for the Coulson reunion on August 26. A bountiful noon feast followed by a program indoors due to rain featured songs recitations and talks by Coulson family members and others. Officers were chosen for next year and many Coulson relatives and visitors attended, with plans to meet again at the C. S. fallen home south of Morayix on Highway No. 60 next August.

The Stocker and Locke reunion gathered nearly 150 relatives at Albia Tourist Park on August 21 with attendees from Albia Ottumwa Chillicothe Moravia Mulder Oskaloosa Valley Junction Des Moines Woodward.
