Beery's nine defeated Winsler's team 6 to 1 on Tuesday and won by forfeit from Whicker's last Friday to stay up in Moravia series standings. Ed Kennedy umpire ruled forfeit due to Whicker's short-handed squad. A pick-up Beery team then beat Beery’s rival 4 to 2. Thursday's Beery Smith game was postponed. Monday Beery edged Winsler 8 to 7. Two regular-season games remain Thursday Whicker vs Winsler and Friday Beery vs Smith with four postponements to be played before champion is decided. Moravia farmer Thomas E. Brown dies after horse kick
Thomas Erasmus Brown of near Moravia died in Ottumwa hospital early Sunday from injuries after a horse kicked him in the face at his farm Saturday afternoon. Born December 17, 183?4, he was 67 years old and survived by his wife Kate Rogary, three children, five grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. Funeral services were held at the home with ministers Hankina and Barker, interment in Salem cemetery.

North Side Cafe Closed After Manager Ilness

Flood disaster hits Cherokee Oklahoma residents endure dual drownings and isolation
Florence and Les Main describe a violent flood in Cherokee Oklahoma beginning Tuesday night when ten inches of rain fell and water rose to levels forcing the family to stay on a table.
