Mrs. Mikiree Doggett called on Forest Meridle. Harry Van Antwerp and sons Joe and Merne spent Saturday at J. R. Callen’s. Lizzie Turner and Billy Angers were Centerville visitors Friday. Ernest Hiatt visited Moravia Monday. Ardis Callen spent Monday night with Ruby Whitehead near Teontum. Mr. and Mrs. KR E Lise and Betty shopped in Centerville Saturday. Miss Jone accompanied them home for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Von Tracy called at J. R. Callen’s for apples Friday.
Millageville and Centerville residents share a weekend of visits and errands. Frank Tarbell and family shopped in Centerville. several relatives visited Jack Murphy, Clarence Teater, and Esther Murphy homes. Miss Hensley attended school duties amid river overflow while Truss Tarbell stayed with Harold Huff.
Mr and Mrs George Darby and family hosted dinner in Kinser Valley with neighbors including Mr and Mrs Lan Darby. Mrs Mary Davis suffered a serious hip injury but is recovering quickly. Several locals shopped and helped. rain caused bridges to become impassable and creeks ran high.
Former Moravians and families gathered at Sycamore Grove Park Los Angeles on Oct 4 1931 for a picnic and meeting. Minutes were read with officers elected and plans made for 1932. Remarks honored Mrs. Susan Horner and noted upcoming Riverside Moravia picnic in 1932 at Fairmount Park.
The pear crop is in great abundance this year especially at the B. E. Winsler residence in Moravia. Mr. Wingler brought in a branch Saturday three feet long with 22 pears, and more pears remained on the branch that had fallen off. He stated there were additional pears on the tree and on the ground.
