Swine Flu Shots In Moravia By County Nurse
Appanoose County Nurse Lorraine Ramos says she will be in Moravia at the community building on Wednesday October 27 from 9 30 to 11 30 am giving the new swine flu vaccinations. Vaccinations are limited to those 60 years and older or 45 and over with chronic illnesses. The vaccination replaces the usual monthly adult health clinic conducted by the county courage office.

Moravia coach Ron Stehn says his Mohawks should have won against the strongly rated Wayne team at Corydon. Wayne led 60 after their first possession and 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. Moravia answered with a 65 yard run by Mark Hall, but the final score favored Wayne. Jeff McDanel led Moravia with 84 rushing yards, while Wayne had 170 on the ground. Buck Creek Cafe Destroyed By Fire In Moravia
Firefighters responded to Buck Creek Cafe near Rathbun Dam shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday. The building suffered total loss estimated at about 100000 by owner Bob Fraush, with insufficient insurance to cover the damage. Origin of the blaze is unknown and a return to rebuild is uncertain despite prior reopening this spring.

Pearl Hunter of Blakesburg reports an event at the Fall Festival where Carl Chambers and his brother met a former teacher Loyd Carter, who said another former teacher Willie Rose of Fairfield wanted to see him in the park. Carl Chambers, 82, later flew home to Salem, Oregon after two weeks visiting relatives and attending the festival.
