Coulson Reunion Held at Moravia Community Building

Descendants of William Coulson gathered at the Moravia Community Building for the 49th annual Coulson reunion on Sunday Sept 28 1975 with 23 members and one visitor. The program included prayers, a meal, a business meeting led by Roger Coulson, two deaths Arthur Swan and Bernice Coulson, six births, three marriages, and elections for officer positions. The afternoon featured visiting and the next year’s reunion was set for August 28th.

Jurilda Jones Dies in California at 81

Mrs. Lester Jones, 81, died Sept. 18 in Ontario California where she lived 48 years. Services were Sept. 22 at Upland First United Methodist Church. Harley Tisue Dies Suddenly At His Moravia Home

Harley Carl Tisue born August 30 1892 died September 24 1975 at his Moravia home after living on a farm near town until 1965. He married Blanche Foland in 1920 producing son Clifford. Blanche died earlier. A later marriage to Mamie Lemaster Stauber yielded son Carl. Mamie died 1969. He served in the 1918 Calvary unit and was a Basil Cowell Legion Post member. Funeral September 26 at Tuimmer Funeral Home. burial in Moravia cemetery with military honors. Heart Fund memorial established. Survivors include Clifford Evelyn Ernestine and Carl plus numerous grandchildren and relatives.

Postal Service Improves First Class Mail at Moravia

The U S Postal Service announces an October 11 improvement at Moravia Iowa for first class mail. All first class mail up to 13 ounces will receive air mail level service, erasing the domestic air mail advantage. Priority mail and international airmail remain unchanged. Airmail stamps may be used in priority and international airmail, exchanged for ordinary stamps, and stationery with airmail indicia will mail at first class. Maps of targeted next and second day delivery will be displayed in the lobby. White air mail boxes will be removed or repurposed.
