Thieves entered the Broshar-Schreiner Store Wednesday night last week by removing glass from the rear window. They tampered with the safe but did not obtain money. only a small amount of merchandise was taken. The amount taken is difficult to determine. The burglars avoided breaking the window glass.

Two round trip cars on the Center ville Albia interurban line through Moravia were suspended Sunday and a new schedule with four trips each way daily announced. The change aligns with Burlington line adjustments at Albia and new Ottumwa Des Moines bus service via Albia, with connections to interurban cars.

Monroe County resident Wm Breazeale who lived near Hilton died Saturday at Ottumwa hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday in Tama. Survived by his wife and two sons, one at Tama and one at Mr Pleasant. About 78 years old.

Wabash Section Crews Consolidated at Moravia
The north and south Wabash section crews based in Moravia have merged, effective early this week. Foreman W L Pylmur leads the consolidated south crew, eliminating foremen J W Albert and Henry Simmons from the local employ, with Simmons likely to join the merged team while Albert must transfer or be reassigned. Albert has served Wabash for nineteen years and led the Moravia division for about fourteen years.

Moravia Festival Survives Rainy Year
The 26th Moravia Fall Festival and Farmers Institute faced persistent rain and chilly winds over a three day span but proceeded with exhibits, mostly in a large tent. Attendance was down from last year, livestock exhibits were withdrawn, yet fruits vegetables quilts and crafts showed well. Notable events included a Ramseyer address rescheduled to a later time, 4-H displays from Charity Township and Moravia schools, and remarks by Farm Union leaders plus Miss Gertrude McDonald. Concessions ran full tilt despite weather and a Go-Getter 4-H club showcase added to the program.
