Large Cattle Supply In The Farm Picture
America's farmers will feed more people and feed them better next year than they did this year, reports Iowa State College farm economist Francis A. Kutish. Cattle and beef supply rise 10 to 15 percent with cattle herds at record highs, likely pushing prices down 10 to 15 percent in 1953. Pork supplies shrink as pork per person drops to 65 pounds, while turkey and eggs face mixed prospects. Fruits and vegetables stay ample, yet higher processing costs may lift pan products.
