Mrs Daphne Shepard reports Griffinsville and N Bend attendees at Sunday School with 20 present. A soup supper and preaching drew good turnout. birthdays celebrated. Residents and visitors, including Ruth McNair, Opal Lemle and Dollie Huff, joined singing and gatherings through the week with visits and parties noted among neighbors.

Moravia council met in regular session at 9 pm led by Mayor Chelsing with Harris Mihalovich Wilson present. Minutes of Sept 2 and 27 were read and approved. reports of clerk and treasurer approved. receipts listed including Sawer Water RU Tax Rent Gift and more. numerous bills authorized and paid. funds balances and taxes noted. meeting adjourned with second session 7 pm Oct 7 with minutes read and approved, attendance Harris Turner Wilson present, Mihalovich absent.
Council approves a batch of payments totaling 28 659.41 including RU Tax 2018 17 LTIOF 1335 87 Debt Service 4873 98 Trust 1873 20 Water 5359 48 and other items to vendors such as Loyd N Carter Matt Parrott Sons Co Des Moines Ford and Belzer Ford. The motion by Turner passed unanimously with instruction to monitor unpaid water and sewer bills and shut off service monthly to delinquents. Meeting adjourned by Mayor Chelaing with Loyd N Carter as Clerk.
On November 3 1978 the Appanoose County Board of Supervisors met in adjourned session. A motion by Streepy and seconded by Anderson appointed Theodore Harbour as Appanoose County Representative to the Charlton Valley Regional Service Area Development committee. Also noted is an inventory for the county period ending July 1 1975 and values listed for livestock cows calves and other cattle.
The Appanoose County Board of Supervisors on November 1 1978 approved tax sales to highest bidders with deeds issued by the County Auditor. Multiple parcels sold to Western Mineral Corporation John Cerata Larry Drake and others for amounts from 5.00 to 38.00 and remaining parcels to various bidders including Paul Squgher Laurence Ball Delores Foster Eleanor Foster and Terry Whisler.
A series of tax sale entries list numerous properties sold to Western Min or Minerals Corporation and other buyers including Artie Mc Claskey, Richard Gardier, George Starceavich, and Raymond Levison. Amounts range from 5.00 to 85.01 with various sale numbers and buyers. The Board adjourned to meet at the call of the Auditor, Kermit L. Strickler, Chairman.
