The Helping Neighbors Club met at Louise Burton's home on Wednesday November 17 with 12 members, three former members Rey Shipman Ice Koehler and Lou Emma Ransom and five guests including Hazel Gordon Arthur Burton Steve Van Camp and Tom McDermondt from Davenport Bob Corse of Denver and Todian Hills college students. The group enjoyed a warm sunny day a blessing from Maurine Burkland a business meeting led by President Alice Simms elected officers and planned Christmas gifts. Marie Weber wrote the club history assisted by Louise Burton baked a mint green anniversary cake with 40 on top. Reminiscences of Christmas traditions and two recipes from Ice Koehler and Willadean Coe were shared. Two members could not attend Goldie Hunt and Flossie Mudry. Next meeting with Matel Spurgeon is scheduled for December 15 with roll call. Opal Wagner and Lucille Exline were absent.

Dale Kaster of Moline Illinois formerly of Moravia died. He was the son of Virgil and the late Hazel Kaster of Moravia. He leaves three children Ricky Rosa and Tina, two brothers Dallan of Jacksonville Florida and Clair of Moravia, and two sisters Phyllis Williams Albia and Jerri Breese Centerville. Funeral services were held Monday November 29 at Rock Island. Local relatives attending included Clair Kaster Virgil Kaster Mrs. Richmond Dale Williams and Vernon Kaster.

Services for Rev. David L. Daniels of Knapp Wisconsin were held Sunday November 14 1976 at the First Baptist Church Pittsfield with Rev. Roy Ferguson and Rev. Ivan Webber officiating. Daniels 29 was killed while hunting near his home on November 8 1976. He was born September 14 1947 in Pittsfield to Mr and Mrs Robert O Daniels. He married Mary Strunk June 10 1972 in Unionville Baptist Church. He had pastored Gospel Mission Baptist Church in Knapp since 1974 and taught in a Christian day school. Survivors include his wife a daughter Carey Ann two from five sisters and two brothers.

The Chariton Valley Medical Center plans a Moravia satellite clinic after the first of the year. Dr. Paul Poncy and colleagues say the former Moravia bank office will host the staff, five days a week with two weekly visits from Des Moines specialists. A full time nurse, routine lab facilities, and mail-ordered medications will support patients. a teleconference system and x ray sharing will link Moravia with Des Moines specialists.
