Blakesburg visits Moravia and defeats the Moravia girls 68 to 55 and the Moravia boys 59 to 42. Ann Easter scores 24 and Judy Martin 23 for Moravia with Sharon Walker at 6. Udell trips Moravia 41 40 in overtime for the boys while the Moravia girls win 41 24. Easter leads Udell defense with 15 for Purdum and Greene score highs for Udell.

Truth Council Attended by 98 Guests and Members

The Truth Council met at the I C O F lodge hall Wednesday evening with 93 attendees from Centerville Moulton and Bloomfield. Moravia Noble Grand Mrs Melissa Felton presided. Class Hight Entertains at Masquerade Party

Cragg 8 of the Methodist church held a masquerade party at the Bert Turner home Monday evening. Party games were played. Mrs John Grenfell and John Bailey won prizes on the best costumes. Barbequed sandwiches, potato chips, doughnuts, coffee and hot chocolate were served. The refreshments committee was Mrs Turner and Mrs John Veach, games hostesses Mrs Frank Wilson and Mrs Ralph Spencer. Mr and Mrs Art Fox and Rev and Mrs John Grenfell were guests. There were 26 present.

Good Neighbor Deed Harvests Corn on Unionville Farm

On Wednesday October 26 a group of 36 neighbors gathered at the farm home of Mrs. Writa Irelan to harvest about 35 acres of corn. Local families from Unionville and surrounding areas contributed machinery and labor, with many named participants listed for both farming and meal preparations at the Methodist church where the noon meal was provided by several community ladies.

Betty Vance daughter of Mr and Mrs Marvin Vance was crowned homecoming queen at Iowa State Teachers College halftime of the Panther Morningside game. A 1952 Moravia high school graduate she was chosen from fifteen nominees by lettermen and is a business education senior.

The Moravia Farm Service company advances toward active service with by-laws approved and directors to be elected by stockholders from Appanoose, Monroe, and Davis counties. A four member temporary committee represents Appanoose until the three county area holds its organizational meeting in January. Stock sales in Appanoose and Monroe meet goals. Survived by three children J E MeAninch and J Argo near Iconium and R Pearl Kelsey Hampton IA with 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, a sister Rosa Beaty Centerville and brother George Hiner near Centerville.
