Auto Fatality In Snowstorm Kills Centerville Man
In a heavy early fall snowstorm on Thursday about 5 30 p m John McCullough 72 of Centerville was killed in an auto accident at the Moravia Phillips 68 service station He was en route from Des Moines to Centerville and after passing cars on the roadway swung back to the right side then left the pavement struck a parked GMC grain trailer causing the truck to lose its rear dual wheels The car bounced back and McCullough who was crushed by the steering wheel died almost instantly Dr Aveta who stopped at the scene pronounced him dead Turner Funeral Home ambulance arrived and Centerville and Eagle funeral home at Moulton prepared the body Services were held Sunday at Moulton Mr McCullough a retired barber who had shops in Moulton and Centerville
