Joseph N Brady Burial at Hillcrest Cemetery

Funeral services for Joseph N Brady of Centerville were held Sunday October 28 at 2 p.m. at the Miller Wehrle Funeral home with Rev George Shells officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery Moravia. Mr Brady died Friday October 26 at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines after an eight year illness.

The MYF group of the Methodist church collected donations Monday evening for UNICEF, receiving $54.87. After finishing the town trek, the Ladies of the Woman's Society served refreshments to the group. The youngsters thank the public for their donations and cooperation.

Defense Course Will Be Offered

Mr. Marvin Waltz of the Civil Defense Division completed an 18 hour instructor course at Moravia school. Six people completed it, from Centerville Albia and Moravia faculties. A 12 hour civil defense course for the community will follow. Participants found the session educational and the state instructor noted many town schools seeking the course amid a tense world situation.

Modern Welding Course Opens Monday at Moravia High

A Moravia school announces a new adult welding training program starting Monday with 16 weeks of instruction. Classes run 12 noon to 6 pm Monday through Friday using arc acetylene and Sigma electric welders. Enrollment forms will be filled at the high school, with registration for unemployed county residents through Centerville Employment Office.

Moravia Schools Invite Visitors to Education Week

Moravia schools announce American Education Week events from November 11 to 17 with visitor days at the high school on November 12 and at the elementary on November 14. Lee Hoffman Dies at Wheatland Wyoming

Word reached Moravia relatives of Lee Hoffman formerly of Moravia who died October 23 in Wheatland Wyoming. He leaves six children and was preceded in death by wife Inez Scott. Funeral services were held in Wheatland on Saturday. He was brother in law to Walter and John Scott of Moravia with other local relatives. No Moravia attendees attended the funeral.
