The Doyle Hamilton home north of Centerville cares for Mr. Hampton and infant William Vanney. The Vanney family moved from a Blakesburg farm to Mrs. Ben Blumer’s west town property. Mrs. H M Richmond and Mrs. Myrtle Harrington hosted a 6:90 dinner for the school faculty board and janitor and spouses. Jewell Richmond returned after a successful Morning Sun kindergarten term. Mina Conner of Long Beach, California visits Alpheus Hopkins family. Webb Mullina family of Knoxville moved into Mrs. Anna Walters’ house.
Irma Hedgecock returns to Des Moines from the Marshall Hedgecock home. A birthday party honors April and May birthdays at the Ora Powell home with 50 guests and a program. Various visitors and meals are noted, including families from Centerville, Ottumwa, Des Moines, Chicago, and nearby towns. A large funeral service for A W Caylor was held in Odell with attendees from Des Moines, Marengo, Cincinnati, and others.
Mrs. Annete Gladfelder and Judy visited J. F. Foster and family while he recovered from bronchitis. Dean Tomlin led a senior class trip to Missouri, returning Friday night. George Boyer of Centerville attended a funeral for George Horstman. Members gathered Thursday night to celebrate Twyla Foster’s birthday with many relatives and friends.
Mrs Emmett Derby reports Vosburg residents including Pharlotte and Charred McAnirich visiting Addie Sheldon home over the weekend. Vosburg school closed Tuesday for a picnic at the school house and an afternoon tour of Albis with teacher Mrs Helen Kosman. Nearby calls and visits included Mr and Mrs George Shehan at John Repps in Albia and Mr and Mrs Buss Ragan plus Elmer Kellogg with James Galhouns Tuesday evening.
Mr and Mrs Robert Tur and family joined Mr Derby to spend an evening with Derby and Calhoun families including Larry Ratan Rose and the Kennett group. The gathering featured Mr and Mrs James Calhoun and Al Derby hosting at Al Derby's residence during the week.
