Union Subscription Drive as Post Office Rates Rise
The Moravia Union urges renewals to avoid second class mail loss and explains a proposed 175 to 900 percent postage hike. It cautions that rate increases threaten small weekly papers, calls for better postal management, and notes fire safety info for residents. Also lists new and renewing subscribers and requests printing orders.

New Hope by Genevie Donovan at Wesley Chapel
A Wesley Chapel church night featured Edith Hiatt in charge with hymns and readings by Wanda and Jimmie McKil lwain and Mrs Frances Burton. Rev Waunella McConnell led prayer and Doris Boblenz ran a Bible quiz and a flower guessing game. Refreshments of sandwiches salads and coffee followed. Many neighbors and families are listed as visiting and attending various local events with multiple house gatherings and club activities noted. Three factors point to a strong milk market in 1949 cited by Floyd Arnold of Iowa State College.
