One year in advance entered adate and dla ga mail matter at Moravia Appanoose County Iowa under the Act of Congress March 3 1879. Six months three months single copy.
Residents and families including Mr. and Mrs. Wes Scott and others visited or hosted at neighbors homes such as George Shehan Everett Stansberry and Hoerbert Dodge with various Sunday and weekday calls. Names include Argo Moffatt Repp Turner Stansberry and Beaty among many others in a busy week of calls and visits.
Mrs Clara Selby spent Thursday and Friday with daughter Mrs J T Van Dorin. Bayard Neff and Bernard joined Friday at parental Jones home. Helping Hand club met with Mrs J T Van Dorin. thirteen ladies and five children present. They plan to meet with Mrs R B Fubar Thursday. Doctor visited Marjorie Roberts who was ill and missed school. Many relatives visited at the J L Jones home on Sunday. Various families visited and called at the Van Dorin and Faber homes. Earnest McKay family and J T Van Dorin were Albia callers Saturday. A C Van Dorin visited B S Faber Saturday afternoon. A C Faber and family shopped in Moravia Monday. Keith Roberta, working near Ash Grove, spent Sunday at home.
Des Moines reports five weeks remain in the 45th General Assembly as over 115 new Bills for Acts were filed in the House on Monday, with near 650 total, while about 40 more entered in the Senate. Prohibition debates shape tax and liquor bills, insurance moratorium, and state appointments as lawmakers push for passage before adjournment.
Amendment 7 to 24 by Brady of Pittawat Tamle fixes an 86 percent levy as a compromise. The amended bill passed 99 to 4 and claims a $15,000,000 tax reduction. It returns to the Senate, which passed it before recess. if not, a conference may follow. Also the House adopted a sheriff's sales redemption extension to March 1, 1985 by 108 to 0.

Mrs C Benson visited her mother and brother this week. Mrs Mose Lockman remains critically ill. Mrs Kenneth Bloomer was taken to Ottumwa hospital Thursday morning. Keith Roberts returned to work at Austin McCarty's Monday. Curtis Tomlin stayed with George Scott Thursday night. W T Irela and Raymond Lothman were Centerville callers Friday. Gerald Irela, Forest Simmon a and Burdette Ward attended a party at Eber Simmon’s Saturday. Mr and Mrs Laurence Ward visited Ottumwa on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Carl Tomlin and Lil Man called at W Tomlin’s Sunday afternoon. Mrs Walter Harper and Mrs Ellen Ward visited W Irelan’s Saturday. Mr and Mrs W Tomlin and Mildred spent Thursday with Miller West.
N G Wilson and wife along with Zee Wilson and Mr and Mrs A Mangle shared a birthday dinner. Relatives and neighbors visited, including Albert Brain, O G Davie, B H Potts, and the Howell family. Sunday gatherings featured the Gaylord McDane and McDanes households with Bonita McDanes celebrating her fourth birthday.
Mr and Mrs Harry Robinson and children return home after a week with relatives in New Sharon and Newton Iowa Everett Gillaspie and children accompanied them, Stella Brown visits, and many neighbors stop by. Ed De Long sustains a minor injury while timber work but improves. Stella Brown hosts and assist with butcher duties, others visit W A Brown and J W A Brown homes.
Meetings start Sunday and continue each night at 7 30 except Saturdays for two weeks. Rev M Morgan of the Albia Church of Christ preaches. Miss Barnum, MacPhail School of Music and Dramatic Art graduate, is a dramatic soprano and has radiobroadcast solo experience. After Albia she will supervise music for evangelistic services at Centerville Church of Christ.
Centerville area residents trade and visit across Unionville and nearby towns. J Stevens and Stant Dowd meet clients. Emma Ray, Bonnie Lee Rumley, and families attend the Crow sale. Neighbors share wood cutting, dinners, and entertainment at the Will Moffatt home with musical guests.
