County Loan Support Rate for 65 Wheat Set
The price support loan and purchase rate for 1965 crop wheat in Appanoose County will be $1.24 per bushel. Joe A. Beer, Chairman of the ASCS County Committee, announced that information on price support rates for wheat stored in terminals and schedules of premiums and discounts are available at the ASCS County Office. Terminal rates derive from rail freight and handling charges to terminal markets. county rates subtract rail freight from the terminal rate. Rates may be adjusted for premiums and discounts based on grade and quality of collateral. Participation in the 1965 wheat program qualifies growers for price-support loans and purchases, marketing certificates, and diversion payments if they reduce acreage by 10 percent below farm allotment. Certificates are worth 75 cents per bushel for the domestic portion based on 45 percent of normal production. Three changes are noted: terminal rate adjustments, discontinuance of sedimentation value tests, and readjustment of other premium and discount schedules.
