Gardner threshing near completion. Shirley Townsend and family and Ada Boyer visited the Willie McDanel home. Numerous locals, including McDanel and Sufficool families, attended Sunday School with 89 attending last week. Several observers spent time with relatives at various homes, birthdays celebrated, and refreshments served. Local gatherings, visits, and travel mentioned throughout the period.
Hiattsville notes show Miss Eirene Phillips visiting Tuesday to Friday at the Stark home in Jerome. Numerous relatives gathered Sunday at various Hiatt homes near Udell, Iconium, Centerville, and Ottumwa for meals and companionship, with threshing season activity and a niece dinner honoring Mrs. Dr. Boyd Yon of Wyoming.
Albia residents and neighbors shared calls and visits Friday through Monday. Fuller Miss Iva Turner and Mrs J J Mom dropped by Albia, Dale Wilkening visited his uncle James Long near Haysville, and Everett Mosier with Johndewn stayed at the John Allem home.
Enon residents report busy threshing week and postponed Helping Hand meeting with Mrs. Etna Smith. Sunday School hosted an ice cream social for Misa Alice Shaw at the Shaw Hokrus home. Several families visited, hosted, or traveled between Moravia, Osage, LeRoy, and Centerville, including the Van Dorin and Jones households.
In Appanoose County Iowa at the August Term 1933 a long list of plaintiffs and defendants are named in a partition and quiet title suit. The petition seeks sale of described real estate in Trebnium Iconium and adjoining blocks to divide proceeds among heirs of Benjamin F. Youngker with action to quiet title and remove any claims. The case scheduled to begin August 28 1939 in Centerville. Default if not appeared by noon.
Local items report visits among Cedar Falls and Ottumwa residents including Miller and Weatherly families. Several Sunday School social events, talks by Chas Blumer after services, and relatives visiting Agnes Koehler and Lulu Koehler in the area. Cars were ferried, and members spent Sunday at various homes.
Mrs Clyde Wilson of Buckeye Arizona and Mrs G B Johnson visited Eph Wilson's home Thursday afternoon. Mrs Jesse Barber and children of Suds called at Jim Creech's Sunny. Mr and Mrs Richard Hart and Margery Wart of Chugwater Wyoming and Mrs Fred Hart of Albia spent.
Friday and Saturday social calls fill the Albia Des Moines and Moulton area as Eph Wilson and relatives host or visit friends. G E Luse, Gerald, and others roam Albia Des Moines and Des Moines areas while Dorothy Davis and Vivian Wright attend Sunday school events and visitors swing through the Wilson home.
Leo Stafford of Ottumwa and Joan and Doris Bates of Chillicothe Iowa were Saturday evening visitors at the O 8 Miller home.
Residents and visitors like W Z Anderson Eva Boardman and Vera Selman attended events and visited relatives in Moravia Albia Des Moines and LeRoy. Illness news touched Frances Robin son Ed DeTar, with support from neighbors and friends as several households hosted meals and visits.
