In Cheyenne Wyoming this week Mr and Mrs Gerald Morgan attend Frontier Days and visit relatives amid a tale that Mrs Morgan wants chaps to wear while Gerald refuses yet the trip continues. The item blends opinions and a light mockery of wire service style.
Official notice announces an examination for Deputy County Assessor positions in Appanoose County Iowa to be held at Centerville Court House at 9 00 A M on September 3 1947. Applicants must file with the Iowa State Tax Commission by August 23 1947 and meet county residence and eligibility requirements.
Unionville residents share visits with relatives including the Davis family in Rockford and the Patterson clan from Seattle and Tulsa. Attendees at social gatherings include the Two Oclock Club with nine members and plans for an ice cream social on July 21. Extended family members arrive from Evanston, Richmond, Ottumwa, and Centerville to visit parents and grandparents in the area.
A long list of visitors and departures fills Moravia and nearby towns. Many locals hosted callers in Moravia Centerville and nearby communities including visits by the Adams Buckalews Main Woodward and other families. A Lockman reunion is set for August 10 in Moravia park and Port Huron Mich resident Frank Adams plans to visit August 6.
Afternoon callers included Mrs. Floyd McCombs of Lo Villa and Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCombs of Knoxville. Max McCombs paused weekend visits with family as relatives from Allerton and Long Beach hosted gatherings. Nearby families from Lenterville and Eddyville spent Sunday with local households in a scene of friendly town interactions.
Mrs W E Donovan hosts as Mr and Mrs John Wood and family and Dick Salyers of Albia visit midweek. Several local families attend gatherings at various homes including the Donovan, Chambers, Hiatt, and Pettibone households. A picnic at Lake Wapello marks birthdays and community fellowship with multiple households noted for visits and travel.
The Board of Supervisors met in adjourned session as the Board of Review to hear objections to increases in valuation of personal property from the June 9 meeting. No objections were filed and the June 9 action stands. Subsequent session with all members present lists various claims allowed, including services, supplies, and expenses for the General and Poor Funds, with amounts allocated to multiple individuals and entities.
Moravia Independent School District discloses a budget estimate detailing projected expenditures and revenues for the upcoming school year. The document outlines anticipated costs across instruction, administration, and facilities, signaling preliminary fiscal planning.
