Moravia officials announce the city dump on Lige Simmons will close. The town contracts with multiple homes and businesses to haul garbage and trash to the landfill at Mott Quarry near Cincinnati.
The Moravia council will study a pickup service plan and address rural road dumping with potential fines. Three residents Guss Luse Cody Luse and Amy Wilson have notified the Union office they attended Moravia's first Fall Festival in 1905. A corn game session and homemade ice cream are planned for the community building this Saturday night hosted by the Fall Festival Association.
Mrs. Mary Carmeny travels to Genesca Kansas with sister Mrs. Garnett Hicks of Gunters Grove Illinois and plans to visit another sister in Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Rumb spent time with Harry Rumley and Alva Davis in Bloomfield. Mrs. Leila Whisler from Hawthorne California visits sister Miss Zola Saum. Zola returns to Odell briefly. Colfax’s Goldie Wheeler visits Minnie Replogle and Minnie’s 92nd birthday noted. Several residents travel or host relatives including Honolulu-bound families and Tulsa guests at local home. many short calls to ill relatives and returning travelers marked the week.
Denise Michelle Bolin of Bloomfield and Albert William Essary of Eldon exchanged wedding vows Saturday July 12 1975 on the front lawn of the Price home in Unionville Iowa at 7:00 PM. The ceremony featured a service in song with a double ring rite. Attendants included Lynna Brown as matron of honor Sabeth Barnett and Nancy Cloke as bridesmaids, Bill Maicalf Willig Ver Ploegh and Dave Hopwood as ushers, and Connie Metcalf Renee Wehr and Rick Metcalf as children in the wedding party. The bride wore ivory satin with lace and a mantilla veil. the groom wore ivory satin and matching accents designed by the couple and the bride’s mother. A reception followed with cafe-style tables, a three-tiered cake, and a lattice church-window cake topper.
Mrs Rick Brawn announces a wedding reception for the daughter of Mr and Mrs Clayton Sheldon. The event included a rose accented cake served by relatives and hostesses listed by name. The bride, a 1975 graduate, will train as a nurse while the groom, a Card inal High School graduate, works in a Fairfield lumber company. After a short wedding trip they will reside in Eldon, with out of town guests from numerous communities.
