Ramblin's Hilltop rink has drawn many community members since opening two weeks ago. Fathers, along with youths, have made extensive use of the rink, enjoying the popular skate features for all ages.

The Brompton schoolhouse hosted its eighteenth annual reunion on Sunday July 9 with forty eight attendees. Etta Schroeder of Ottumwa oldest present invoked the blessing before a noon basket dinner. President Dick Sandifer led the 2:00 pm meeting as members shared short readings. Former teachers Delia Wolf Edith Vance Ethel Roberts and Lulu R Tillmont attended. Officers and committee members were reelected or chosen, with a program featuring readings poems songs and a radio broadcast from Blakesburg. The group plans to meet again on the second Sunday in July 1951 in Ottumwa and Albia residents attended among many others.
The annual Espy family reunion gathered Sunday at the Rockford home of Mr and Mrs Fred Dictaman 812 Taft Rd Attendees included many Espy relatives from across Illinois and beyond including Rockford Ogden Utah Centerville Blakesburg Moline Chicago Shirland and more with extended families present for the event.
