Elaine Christy spent the weekend with Dalene Post. Car races on Knoxville Saturday evening drew many. Basil Hertsen hosted homemade ice cream Saturday evening. Dick Brown, Brad and Jimmie Sheldon attended Chariton's Fourth of July celebration.
Mour and Mr and Mrs Everett Agang and Mr and Mrs Joé Mitchell were Monday evening visitors at the Dick Brown home.
The Union Farmerettes met at the Unionville Methodist church for May sewing workshops led by Debbie Egbert and others. Betsy topics covered measuring sizing and finishing seams, with demonstrations on zipper installation and pattern selection. June discussions focused on grooming and personal care, camp reports, and plans for an July 10 achievement show at the same church. reporters noted invitations.
The County Conference Board of Appanoose County Iowa will meet July 28 at 7 30 p m in the Court House. Taxpayers will be heard for or against the budget estimate. A summary of receipts and expenditures is on file with the Conference Board Clerk. Supplemental Detail copies will be provided on request.
