MHS Teams Win Over S E Warren and Lead Conference
Moravia High School teams swept S E Warren with the girls tied for first in the conference after decisive 19 0 win in three innings led by Beth Steenhoek 3 for 3 and a home run while Lou Ellen Rowley fanned eight. A 9 8 win followed with Fonda Dicks on the mound and two hits. Monday night both squads won 3 2 and 17 4 respectively as Ruth Steenhoek delivered the winning run and Rowley struck out 16. Boys pitchers Gary Tisue eight strikeouts and top hitters Bob Hiatt Self and Tisue contributed. Additional wins at Davis County featured 17 10 and 25 17 scores with VanDorin pitching and Dicks also contributing two homers. The MHL boys head to Keosauqua and host Centerville on July 4. Steenhoek and Tisue lead the batting.

After a multi year hiatus Moravia moves to restart league softball with four teams of 12 to 15 players.
