Juke Winkleman and Max McCoy were Blakesburg callers Saturday. Mrs. M. E. Boardman, operated on for appendicitis Saturday at Ottumwa hospital, is reported improving.
Hedge College host Martena and Juanita Childs of Contaville Mo. Edna Dyphan stayed with Jess Smith and Harry Tisner homes. Many residents joined hog slaughtering, visits, and social gatherings across the Wilson Luse and Mangle households as townsfolk maintained weekly routines.
The M. H. S. news notes a near semester event described as a "swell affair" to be held Thursday and Friday. Invitations circulate. faculty aims for a standout occasion with games, pen and paper, and report card rewards. Some upperclassmen may attend a separate event sponsored by the State Superintendent.
