Fragmentary Quotation Reel From 19th Century Papers
The readable fragments evoke a rural satire with lines about love of country and labor. Farmer Corntessel contemplates whether patriotism or loathing work drives friends. A bead and bachelor jokes appear, while exchanges hint at social roles and money. References include Providence Journal and Philadelphia Bulletin origins.
