Lola Gorden undergoes surgery at Centerville hospital with wishes for a smooth recovery. Betty Cridlebaugh had pins removed and a new cast applied, with a follow up planned for late February. Dooley hosts guests including Cridlebaugh and Helmick. Faith Bible College students Debra Walker and Mary Strunk visit from Ankeny with their families. A Baptist youth trip to a Doonan recital in Ankeny is detailed with attendees listed. several planned travelers were ill.
Engaged couple Pamela Ruth Mock of Albia and Richard D. Calhoun of Moravia announce their engagement. Pamela is a junior at UNI and Albia High School graduate. Richard, a Moravia High School and Centerville Junior College graduate, attended Iowa State University and serves aboard the USS New Jersey in Vietnam. No wedding date set.
The Chariton River Missionary Society held an all day meeting February 10 in the church basement with a pot-luck lunch. Activities included tearing and rolling bandages for Congo and South India, a skit, poems, and Bible readings. An officer election was held and a second all day session is planned February 24 to continue work on bandages. Members present and three visitors attended.
