Mr and Mrs Ernest Hiatt return from a 5330 mile southern states to California trip. They are joined by Mr and Mrs Harold Hudgens in Apache Junction Arizona. They visited Albuquerque New Mexico with Clair Hiatt family and met Earl Weston Ruth from Longview Washington and Clell Davis Wetah from Springvalley Minnesota. Wintering in Arizona they saw a parade with 275 horse drawn contestants and the Scottsdale rodeo with Dick Van Dike guest star. They toured Nogales Mexico for light trading with local, very good young traders.

Visit Journey Through California and Iowa Family Trip
Ernest and I drove to Mendota and San Jose California visiting brother Wesley and wife then son Robert and family. We found fog and cold nights harming citrus and flowers. ice lay on the bird bath. On Sunday February 7 we picnicked in the park with Davis family Westons Bill Walker and family Mr and Mrs Ben Irons an aunt of the Hiatts. Afternoon calls and photos then shuffleboard. We left Tuesday for Iowa with a smooth trip home despite a snow shift in Texas and wheat fields in Kansas. Iowa seems a lovely state after western hubbub.

Voag Students See Electrical Demonstration
Bill Cummings of Iowa Southern Utilities gave a vivid electrical circuit protection demonstration to the sophomore vocational agriculture class Monday. He overloaded a circuit to show a fuse blow and showed heat buildup when a wire is overloaded. power was shut off before damage occurred. He also illustrated effects of placing a penny behind a fuse and shared additional electricity facts.
