Pioneer day queen and longtime Hamilton county resident dies
Mrs. M R Worthington of Aurora dies at 84 after four days illness in Nebraska. One of the county’s earliest settlers moved here in 1872 with Mahlon R Worthington and helped establish pioneer life in Union precinct. Funeral held at the Methodist church with burial in Aurora cemetery. Survivors include her husband five children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ralph Winsler In Automobile Accident
Mrs Will Tuttle of Upland California reports Ralph Winsler and his mother in law were badly injured in a collision on a Riverside to Los Angeles trip. Police say the other driver ran a stop signal at 46 mph, demolishing Winsler’s car and injuring Ralph mildly while his mother in law suffered serious injuries including a broken collarbone and ribs and a head cut. The baby stayed at home.

Veach Triplement Store Moravia enjoyed a Power Farming Day showcasing tractor school by Klingeman of International Harvester Co, round table talks, a free noon lunch, and a Crystal Theatre film program on modern farming methods. Harvester representatives, including Nick Sorenson and L P Schooler, led lectures while attendees learned about Farmall tools and care, with a Chicago visit reel and a Champion 4H Club segment. Death of Mrs. R. W. Emberling at Numa Iowa
Mrs. R. W. Emberling died at her son Carlos Babcock’s home in Numa Iowa on January 22 after dwelling with her daughter Mrs. Mattie Underwood in Maravia. She had been brought to Numa on New Year’s Day to spend the rest of the winter and passed away twenty two days later without recognizing her children.
