Miss Hazel Hellyer reports sympathy for the bereaved of Blanch McKern. Clergy and family members attended the funeral, with Mrs. Clarence Whitehead as organist. Relatives visited Ottumwa hospital and nearby towns, while others helped at home and with travel to medical appointments.

Proceedings show the board approving a 60 acre tract in Bail ou Township Appancoses County Iowa. A motion by Strespy and second by Strickler passed unanimously on December 25 1076. Minutes to reflect self approval and auditer issued certifying the record.
Special session records show the Appanoose County Board of Supervisors rezoned parcels from Agricultural to Residential for properties on the Southeast Quarter Northwest Quarter Section 24 and Southeast Quarter Southwest Quarter Section 2, with no objections. The notices met Iowa Code requirements, and the measure was approved on December 23, 1976, by officials Kermit L. Strickler and others. A January 3, 1977 meeting appointed Strickler as Chairman for 1977 and designated county newspapers as official notices.
