Blanch McKern born November 17 1891 in Appanoose County daughter of David and Hannah Easter Gladfelder. She married Lewis Guy McKern on November 10 1908 and was a longtime member of Main Station Methodist Church. She died January 25 1977 at Monroe County hospital age 85. Survived by daughter Doris and Dorothy plus granddaughter Jean and brother Jess Gladfelder. preceded by parents husband two brothers and sister.

Mrs J B Sneed former Moravia resident marked her 90th birthday on Saturday January 29 with a 4 noon party at her son By Richard Sneed and Adelaide Sneed's home in Los Angeles. A luncheon followed hosted by Dr and Mrs J Richard Sneed. Granddaughters Carol Hinds Barbara Knutson and Mrs Richard Sneed helped with serving. Linda and Laurie Hinds modeled her wedding dress and a teenage dress. Born in Moulton she moved to Moravia in 1910 with her husband J B Sneed founding cashier of Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank and remained there until his death in 1936. A daughter Elizabeth teaches school in Peoria Illinois.
